Kayla Festa,

Marriage and Family Therapist (MFTC)

About Me

I was born and raised on the East Coast, and spent over a decade in New York City working as an organizational psychologist and human resources professional in large organizations. This chapter taught me a lot about people, systems, and high-pressure environments, but it also led to a period of burnout that ultimately became a turning point leading me to rethink how I wanted to live and relate, both to myself and others.

In 2019, I moved to Colorado, and over the years have focused on redefining success, reconnecting with my values, and building a life that feels more balanced and authentic. That personal journey deeply informs my work as a therapist, particularly my belief that growth often comes not from “fixing” ourselves, but from understanding our patterns and creating safer, more honest connections.

My therapeutic style blends warmth, curiosity, and attunement with directness and clarity (I am a reformed New Yorker, after all). I draw from evidence-based, attachment-focused approaches and work relationally, helping individuals and couples understand the emotional patterns that keep them stuck, and guiding them toward more secure, connected ways of relating.

Outside the therapy room, rock climbing and yoga are anchors for me. They keep me grounded, present, and connected to my body. These practices allow me to bring a steady, calm presence into my work with clients.

In our sessions, you can expect to feel supported, understood, and gently challenged. My goal is for you to leave sessions feeling more connected to yourself, clearer about your patterns and emotions, and more equipped to navigate your life and relationships with confidence, intention, and self-trust.
